Update the Wordpress database configuration

Step 1 - Open the filemanager
Step 2 - Open wp-config.php
Step 3 - Find the database information
Step 4 - Update the database information

Sometimes you need to change the configurations for the WordPress database in WordPress. For example after you have changed the database password or if you get the following error message:

Step 1 - Open the filemanager

  1. Log into your One.com control panel.
  2. click on File manager in the tile Files & security .


Step 2 - Open wp-config.php

The wp-config.php file is located in the directory in which you installed Wordpress.
Click on the wp-config file to open it in the editor.


Step 3 - Find the database information

You can usually find the database information near line 20 in the wp-config file.
In this example the database information is:

define ('DB_NAME', 'one_example_support'); define ('DB_USER', 'one_example_support'); define ('DB_PASSWORD', '********'); define ('DB_HOST', 'one-example.support.mysql.service.one.com');


Step 4 - Update the database information

In the example below, you need to update_here replace with your own database information.
You can see the current connection details in the One.com control panel at PHP & MariaDB Find.

define ('DB_NAME', 'update_here'); define ('DB_USER', 'update_here'); define ('DB_PASSWORD', update_here '); define ('DB_HOST', 'update_here');

click to save in the top left corner of your screen.
