Can you repeat meps when you fail

Master - number of repetitions

  • Good morning friends,

There are actually some reports and opinions on the Internet, but they are mostly contradicting. It is about the repetition of the basic qualification to become an industrial foreman specializing in food technology. I have already taken the basic qualification (BQ) exam twice (1st round) and will now only take the NTG and BWH exams for the third time.

According to some people, this is the very last chance to get ahead. If I don't succeed - the train has left. The question I ask myself is: is this the truth? The "Examination Supervisor" of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Munich-Upper Bavaria wrote me the following reply via email regarding this matter.

Quote: "[...] a failed exam or a failed part of the exam can be repeated twice.

If the examination is also not passed in the second repeat examination, the examination procedure is ended and the examination is deemed to have been failed. Any parts of the exam that have been passed expire.

In order to be able to take the advanced training examination again, the admission to the examination must be re-applied for. The test can then be started from the beginning. "

But then there is the following post from the official side of the HWK: https://www.hwk-bls.de/artikel…lt-haben-22,159,837.html

or is that now a mistake on my part to equate IHK and HWK with regard to this matter because you have completely different approaches in this area?

    PLEASE HELP ME

  • Thank you very much. Yes, I already thought that you can't do that. Forgiveness.

Yes, I know that, but I mean - if I fail this time too - can I take all exams again at the IHK?

    Thanks in advance

In principle it is very simple:

You can do almost every single exam 3 times in total write and in the same examination cycle orally complete (Prerequisite for the MEP = at least 30% written in the relevant subject and then no more than 2 subjects in total ... otherwise this is not possible)

In your case, you have to write both exams and pass them with at least 50% ... then you would be through

or write both with at least 30% and then complete both verbally.

If that doesn't work (we're not assuming that) then it is actually the case that everything that has already passed is lost and you can start a completely new attempt if you want.

    I wish you success

  • I thank you Banditos for the detailed answer. Before you break down in anger, I would like to ask my question again right here, which somehow always (UNINTENDED of course) remains unanswered. At the bottom of your text you write "[...] if you want, you can start a completely new attempt." And this is exactly where I always get the answer. Because the question is HOW OFTEN CAN YOU PERFORM THIS TRIAL? HOW MANY OF THESE TRIALS IS THE MAXIMUM POSSIBLE? CAN YOU START THIS TRAINING AS OFTEN AS YOU WANT? That is of course the worst-case scenario. After all, I don't want to pay an examination fee every time until the end of my life or count down all forms of organization haha.

I thank you for your help noble masters!

  • I can only agree with the previous speaker ... that's how it looks.

  • You are men of honor! Thanks! Yes, of course, at some point you have to get a grip on life.

  • Hello,

it is clear that you can as often as you want and have money.

I once had an examinee in NTG Written 30 points MEP 40 points, so again and the whole eight times in 10 years.

At the last exam, we examiners said to ourselves: Let it pass now, otherwise it will come again !!

It was enough for him without forbearance or mercy and he is a happy IM today

    greeting

  • Hello examiners,

this is absolute madness. I mean you have to let this period affect you - had this stressful exam 8 times and I don't even mention the stress of preparation .. 10 years .. this person must have been quite determined and ambitious .. respect.

Thanks for your help and time you took.

    Hi

If you have to repeat 2 of 4 exams and then pass 1 and 1 fail over 30%, is an oral exam possible or is it only valid for the beginning of 4 of 3 + 1 oral exam?

  • Hello Maik!

Read through your question again and rephrase it - who should climb through there ...

What do you mean by that exactly ???

Otherwise you will be helped here in the forum!

If, regardless of the attempt and with how many subjects to be written, a maximum of 2 subjects between 30 and 49 are after the written and no further 6 are included, you can take the supplementary examination orally.

Regardless of whether there are still 2 subjects or 5 subjects in the respective repeat examination.
